How the Cadence & Stride Target Solver Works

Running velocity (v) is governed by the fundamental biomechanical equation:

Velocity (v) = Step Frequency (SF) × Step Length (SL)

As velocity increases, runners naturally increase both step rate (SPM) and step length. However, over-striding occurs when a runner increases step length too much without increasing step frequency, leading to excessive joint braking forces.
