HRV during taper and race week#
During a taper, most runners see HRV rise as accumulated fatigue clears. A HRV that is trending upward heading into race week is a good sign — your nervous system is fresh. If HRV remains suppressed into race week despite reduced load, consider additional rest and review your pre-race nutrition and sleep.
The Bigger Picture: HRV as One Signal Among Many#
