What's free, and what Pro adds
Most of Apex Run is free, including the part people expect to pay for: your entire back catalogue of runs, analysed. Pro adds the layer that tells you what to do next.
Plenty of running apps make you pay before you can see anything. Apex Run doesn’t: the day you install it, every run already in Apple Health is read, analysed and sitting there — lifetime totals, best efforts, splits, heart rate zones, records. That part never expires and never asks for a card.
Pro is the coaching layer on top. It answers what should I do about it, rather than what did I do.

What Pro adds#
| What it answers | |
|---|---|
| Training Status (ACWR) | Am I ramping up faster than my body has adapted to? |
| Intensity Structure | Are my easy days actually easy, or am I grinding the middle? |
| Pace Zones | What pace should this session be run at — and did I hold it? |
| Race Predictor | What’s a realistic finish time for my next 5K, 10K, half or marathon? |
| Grade Adjusted Pace | Was I slowing down, or just climbing? |
| Advanced Insights | Is my engine getting stronger? (Pace Stability Index, Efficiency Factor) |
| Form Analysis | Where’s the wasted motion in my stride? (Vertical Ratio, Duty Factor) |
| Route Playback | Replay a run step by step on the map |
| Shadow Runner | Race the fastest version of myself on a route I’ve run before |
| Today’s Guidance | Given last night’s recovery, what should I actually do today? |
| FIT file export | Take a run out of the app and into anything else |
| Premium Trends | The advanced metrics, plotted over months rather than one run |
The trial#
Pro comes with a 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged during it, and you can see how many days are left in Profile→Settings at any time.
After that it’s an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, billed through your Apple ID. Cancel any time from your App Store account settings — at least 24 hours before the period ends — and you drop back to the free tier with all your history intact. Nothing is deleted, nothing is locked behind an export.
Two things Pro is not#
- It doesn’t unlock your data. Your runs are yours on the free tier — visible, analysed, and shareable as images. Pro adds interpretation, not access.
- It doesn’t record runs. Apex Run has no Start button at all, free or paid. Your watch records; Apex Run makes sense of it afterwards. If you’re looking for something to press Start on, this isn’t it — and that’s worth knowing before you install rather than after.

Start with the free half. It's the larger half.
No account, no card, nothing to set up. Grant Health access and your running history is analysed on the spot — and Pro comes with a 14-day free trial if you want the rest.
